Outdoor furniture: what fabric to use?

Uncompromising luxury and elegant living are made even better with the perfect outdoor fabric.

Outdoor furniture ranks among the top investments for your outdoor space. While giving your garden a refreshed look, the fabric you choose to include in the design can have a huge impact on not only the look but also the longevity of your investment. Sub-standard quality fabric can mean your cushions and upholstery will fade or show damage long before you have enjoyed it to the full.

In our opinion, it is always worth investing in the best there is. You are planning on lounging and enjoying your new beautiful space, after all? One of our favourite go-to’s are Sunbrella:

Sunbrella performance fabrics are made of 100% solution-dyed acrylic. Their fibres are saturated with colour and UV-stabilized pigments before they're spun into yarn–meaning the pigment goes all the way through the fibres and the colour stays true over time. They are a well-known name in the marine environment as well as a variety of outdoor applications; upholstery, shade sails, drapery, umbrellas as well as cushions and pillows.

There are also other options like vinyl that work well outdoors as long as you consider where and how it will be used. Vinyl can get hot in the sun and some types of canvas do fade faster than others.
