A great way to protect topsoil from erosion and drought is to add ground covers. Ground covers also reduces landscape maintenance and are especially useful in problem areas such as on steep slopes, under low-branched trees and shrubs, where the roots of large trees protrude and in confined areas where mowing is difficult. You can fill in the gaps in your garden or tricky shady areas by adding ground covers that are low-maintenance, functional and adds welcoming colour.
