Which should I get: artificial lawn vs live lawn aka grass? This is a question we get asked a lot.
Long gone are the days where artificial lawn looks like like an eyesore and screams “fake”. Artificial lawn might well be a better option for you especially if you are looking for a longterm investment that takes no maintenance and could potentially also save you tons of money in the longrun.
They don't need water, fertilizer, or to be mowed. The newest generation of artificial grass often looks good enough to fool us into thinking it’s real. Available in a number of blade lengths, colours, and textures (including variegated strands), the new generation of synthetic grass can fool most.
They are great for drought-prone climates especially if you prefer a perfect and velvety green lawns. Efforts to maintain lawns–mowing, blowing, and trimming with gas- and electric-powered tools–create air pollution that far outstrips the oxygen-producing benefits of grass. If you use fertilizers on grass, the chemicals pollute the groundwater. Some manufacturers of artificial grass use recycled materials, such as old tires or plastic bottles, but that is not to say that manufacturing of artificial lawn is without pollutants.
We can’t ignore the aesthetic value of synthetic turf. No maintenance, no fuss, no gophers, and no water. Whether you prefer live lawn or a synthetic alternative, a great looking garden with green lawn is not only beautiful to look at, but similar to a pool, a well-kept lawn always adds value to a property.
