ADD LIGHTS TO YOUR GARDEN

Our top tip to instantly update your garden and turn your outdoor space up a notch? Add lights.

You can easily create a cosy nook on your patio or add additional lights to a pathway with different styled lights. The good news is they can be functional AND look good. Lights can create some interest in the garden at night time and change the look of your garden in an instant.

A few notes:

1. CREATE A GLOW:

You can create a glow around trees and foliage. Spike lights work really well, especially around taller palm trees and plants. When using around a pathways, just take note that they can be too bright if facing the pathway, so aim your lights away from traffic to avoid blinding your guests with lights shining into their eyes.

2. USE REPETITION:

smaller pencil lights lined up in a pathway creates just enough light to illuminate your entrance while effortlessly adding tons of finesse.

3. ADD SHADOWS TO THE GARDEN:

plants can form the most beautiful shapes with their leaves and adding high contrast lights will create a very unique design seen only at night.

4. LED strip lights as seen used in the steps are not only useful, but oh so pretty! It becomes a design feature all by itself. They also work well around outdoor kitchens and pergolas. A definitely yes to include in any outdoor space.

5. PICK QUALITY:

There are a number of ways to add lights to the garden; temporary (think lanterns and candles) and more permanent options that would require professional installation. We always recommend investing a little more to ensure no faulty electricity issues. Even for wireless solar fuelled options, backing it with quality will always be worth it in the end.
